Scenic Sunday

Hey there,

I hope your Sunday is treating you wonderfully and you are gearing up for another workweek. I have most of the week off, so I don't have to "gear up" so to speak. That doesn't mean I can't relax, though. I am working tomorrow, but I have the rest of the week off.

So..why is this post titled, "scenic sunday"? Well I started my Sunday with an awesome 6 mile run. Let me rephrase that....I slept in, ate a yummy breakfast, and then embarked on my 6 mile run.

Although 6 miles is a good amount of distance to cover, I didn't mind because I was running somewhere beautiful.

Shelburne Farms!

For those of you that don't know (I'm not sure why you would unless your from New England), Shelburne Farms is a beautiful 1,400 acre farm. Not only that but the farm is home to a children's farm yard, a cheese making factory, dairy cows, an inn and restaurant, and is right on the shore of a beautiful lake. In my mind, it's the perfect place to run.

Lucky for me, the entrance to the farm is only about a mile away from my humble abode. Despite the proximity, wonderful trails, and breathtaking views, I don't run there nearly enough.

It was cloudy and sprinkling when I set out on my run this morning, but the views were still breathtaking. I'm not sure if my iphone pics (taken while I was running) do this place justice, but here they are nonetheless:

Post run: Sweaty, smiling mess!

I can't wait until leaf-peeper season. You better bet that I'll be logging my miles through this place when all the leaves are yellow, orange, and firetruck red.

After my run, I went to the movies with my dad and saw this little gem...
During the movie, my dad mentioned that
Ryan Reynolds looks a lot like my cousin..
Way to ruin my celebrity fantasies Dad!

Although it was a little raunchy and definitely politically incorrect, it was pretty funny!

That's all I got for you today!

Where is your favorite place to run (walk/exercise)?

  1. The scenery is so gorgeous! I wish I had pretty places like that to run. I just run around my neighborhood trails when it's not 100 degrees out, but that gets boring real quick.

  2. Wow, that really was a great scenic run! My favorite route to run in on a trail path, there are lots of trees which is great to guard against super sunny days :)
